Marina Rusch
Instructor
Marina has loved dance as long as she can remember. Growing up in Greece, she did Greek folk dancing and was exposed to tap through Fred Astaire movies, which developed her love of tap. She joined the Ballroom Dancing Society while at university in Manchester, England, and achieved Gold Status in the jive, waltz, foxtrot, tango, cha-cha, and rumba.
She began teaching dance aerobics in 1995, and continues to do so in various forms. She is also a certified personal trainer.
Marina started tap dancing at SMSD in the fall of 2019, and loves the challenge that tap presents. Like Edwina, Marina plays in her church handbell choir; she has been playing handbells for 22 years - a percussionist at heart!
Marina and her husband, Paul have been dancing ballroom since 2009, and they call it their marital therapy! She started teaching some ballroom classes at SMSD in February, 2024, and has now developed a ballroom program to share with her dance family at SMSD. Come join the fun!
