Mersadyz Elizardo

Instructor

Mersadyz, widely known as the “Princess of Dancehall,” is a versatile performer, choreographer, and instructor based in Austin, Texas. She began her dance journey at just four years old at Mary Lou’s School of Dance in San Antonio, later moving to Austin where she trained at Atomic Dance Factory under industry leaders Gino Johnson, David Kellough, Leslie Garcia, and Bboy Blitz. She has also trained at renowned studios including Playground LA, Millennium Dance Complex, and EDGE Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles.

Her expertise spans a wide variety of styles including dancehall, shuffle, hip hop, waacking, jazz, contemporary, street funk, heels, and K-pop. Currently, Mersadyz teaches hip hop at SMSD and serves as Director of the Dynamix competitive team and the 4N Affairz adult K-pop team. She is also the assistant choreographer to Leslie Garcia and assistant director/social media manager for The Empire, a 4x Grand National award-winning hip hop crew. Her choreography has earned multiple judges’ awards, including recognition for outstanding creativity and execution.

As a performer, Mersadyz has shared the stage with hip hop artist Bri Berlay as lead backup dancer and choreographer, performed on Riff Raff’s Neon Black Tour, and danced for Austin’s Pride Fest, Oral Gami, and the hip hop group Triplets. She is a Streetz Dance Convention scholarship recipient and a 4x Grand National Champion. Beyond performance, she frequently travels throughout Texas to teach and choreograph, spreading her love of dance to communities statewide.

Outside the studio, Mersadyz is also a professional hairdresser and makeup artist, and has worked as a DJ for Graham Brothers Entertainment. She brings her creativity and energy into every project she touches, striving to inspire her students and audiences alike. At the heart of her work is a simple mission: to share her love of dance with everyone she meets.
