We are going into our 4th year at SMSD and we absolutely love it! Studio leadership works so hard to make the whole experience wonderful for dancers and their families. The recitals are phenomenal! Everyone we’ve met here, from the owner, director, manager, instructors, and sales associates at The Dancers Den have been nothing but welcoming, helpful, and kind. I’m extremely thankful that we found this studio years ago. To all of the hardworking staff at SMSD: thank you for everything you do for us! We appreciate and love you!

I can’t say enough good things about this dance studio! It is a very friendly atmosphere with a variety of classes for all levels of dancers. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone who is looking for a dance home.

Wonderful dance studio with kind, experienced staff that teaches all ages/dance levels starting at age 2. My daughter is in Twinkle Tots for kids aged 2-3. She was nervous about her first organized activity without mom or dad there, but the teachers gave her a warm welcome and made her feel comfortable as soon as she walked in the studio door. In no time she was having a blast! So grateful for this studio!

I hit the jackpot when I discovered Shirley McPhail School of Dance. After not tap dancing since middle school, I was ready to give it a try again, but a little nervous, too. Over my first five years at SMSD, I’ve gained confidence and circle of toe-tappin’ friends. Adult instructors Edwina & Patti are consummate professionals, they make learning tap FUN, creatively stimulating for your mind-body coordination, and oh-so rewarding in a supportive, friendly atmosphere—at all skill levels.

This is a wonderful dance school with lots of choices of classes and an especially robust adult tap program. The administrative staff are professional and friendly, and there is a nice variety of skilled teachers who have different styles of classes and choreography. I recommend this school for its super safe, nurturing atmosphere, which is so comfortable for beginners and dancers at all levels.
